Simplified Meeting Experiences
For the past 2 years, I have led design in the Meeting & Calling space Teams Free. The core challenge was adapting the robust meeting capabilities of Teams to an audience that often operates outside the Microsoft ecosystem. These users typically rely on tools like Google Calendar, and the people they want to connect with are often offline or not using Teams—requiring us to iterate on solutions that prioritized ease of use, flexible scheduling, and lightweight ways to invite and connect.
I led the ideation, design, and launch of the Meet app—a dedicated space within Teams Free for users to start, join, and share meetings effortlessly. After launch, Meet app quickly gained 7M users and overtook the traditional calendar in usage and drove increase in meeting minutes, validating the shift toward a lightweight, action-oriented experience.
With a surge of Skype users transitioning to Teams Free, I partnered cross-functionally with PM, engineering, and research to prioritize calling updates. This work directly contributed to a 2.6x increase in active users and a 50% return rate
Beyond the Meet app, I shipped a range of key experiences—from core table-stakes features to safety enhancements designed to protect users—helping elevate the overall meetings and calling experience for our growing user base.

A dedicated space within Teams Free for users to start, join, and share meetings effortlessly. I led the design sprint that kickstarted the project and through close cross-discipline collaboration, we shipped the final experience that delivered impactful results to our overall meeting usage.
Skype joins Teams Free
Prioritizing features for the influx of Skype users
At the end of May, we officially said goodbye to Skype. I was part of the team responsible for managing the transition to Microsoft Teams. My role focused on ensuring that Teams' meeting and calling capabilities achieved feature parity with Skype. For any gaps, I collaborated closely with PMs and Engineering to define a roadmap and drive delivery. As a result, we successfully spec'd and shipped several key features, including call logs, call permissions, recordings, and real-time text (RTT).

Improving Team's Calling Experience
With Skype user's transitioning into Teams, calling became a high engagement area that required new attention. I designed and integrated a call section onto the Meet app which allowed user's to see and engage with their call history. We responded to customer asks by building a safety feature that allows user to receive calls from non-contact. The launch of these features addressed customer feedback and played a fundamental role in Skype user retention.
